My Story

Oh my gosh, how did we get here? Well, I’ll tell you what, the journey has been a rocky one. In fact, that’s the whole reason I started Cowgirl Wellness. I wanted to help other women and save them the years of wasted time, money, and energy I went through.

I’ve always been a health enthusiast, but my definition of health has evolved over the years. I used to think it meant tracking calories and macros and making it to the gym seven days a week. Today, that definition looks a little different.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve struggled with acne and melasma. I thought I had tried everything. I went to dermatologists and med spas. I tried prescriptions, cutting out dairy, acids, peels, lasers, expensive skincare, and random supplements. Nothing worked long term. In fact, my skin was getting worse from all the damage I had done to my barrier.

Then COVID happened, and everything changed. It had me questioning everything—our medical system, pharmaceuticals, insurance companies, and the way we approach health in this country. All of a sudden, something clicked. I started deep diving into podcast rabbit holes, learning everything I could about alternative medicine and functional nutrition.

Side note, I hate that we even call it “alternative” medicine. Shouldn’t nature be our first line of defense? I digress. This was when things really started to shift. I had thought I was eating healthy, and I was from a calories and macros standpoint, but the truth was I was still consuming a lot of processed foods, even if they were protein bars and “healthy” snacks.

About a year later, I began running my own labs. That changed everything. It opened my eyes to just how much time and money I had wasted on random supplements and elimination diets. Lab testing allowed me to get specific and cut through all the noise. Once your eyes are opened, you can’t go back.

This past year, I felt a calling to share what I had learned. How could I just sit with all this knowledge and not use it to help people? That’s when I decided to enroll in Kale Diagnostics’ CN-P program (Certified Nutritional Practitioner), a course designed to teach you how to interpret functional labs and create custom nutrition, supplement, and lifestyle protocols. This is what I was meant to do.

Health is a journey. Do I still break out occasionally? Yes. But today, at 30 years old, I feel healthier, stronger, more vibrant, and more beautiful than I ever did in my 20s. Age is just a number, and health is beauty. They are one and the same.
